Innovation at School

Innovation at School

This year’s first issue of Rivista Lasalliana, a trimestral publication on culture and pedagogic training, addresses the issue of the educational emergency and distance learning during the pandemic with an article by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.

Education during Covid-19: Towards Systemic Innovation of Schools is the title of the article signed by Scientific Director Alfonso Molina with contributions by Mirta Michilli (Director General) and Ilaria Gaudiello.

The Covid-19 pandemic has given an unprecedented innovative push to school, starting from the vast adoption of distance learning, capable of pulling together in a brief period of time a wide variety of efforts and resources that came to fill the empty space left by the closure of the school. This innovative push needs to be consolidated and transformed into a systemic innovation of the overall scholastic system. The extraordinary amount of instruments, activities and experience now available, together with the exceptional resources made available by the E.U., must not be wasted, but directed toward a new education capable to prepare the young generations for the travel of life in the 21st century. The article describes the broad interrelated dimensions of systemic change in the school world, the impact of the pandemics’ first wave on each of these dimensions, and the work done by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
